Meet AWS’s new CloudWatch Omni

Did you ever want to have an AI agent specifically designed for monitoring your other AWS AI Agents?

We live in weird times, and AWS might be going too far with the whole agents thing.

All the same, allow me to introduce you to CloudWatch OMNI. It's like they took CloudWatch Insights, a powerful tool I love, and slapped a chat bot in it.

I will admit I use CloudWatch Insights with agentic workflows, but I am not sure it needed its own bot shoved in there.

Especially when, in their own words:

“A confident response from an agent can still be wrong. Omni scores every agent invocation against evaluators you choose, in production and on demand against a dataset, so you catch quality regressions before your users do. Bring your own evaluators or start with ours.”

The pricing seems pretty standard with reasonable costs for ingestion and storage, but just like CloudWatch Insights, watch out for the compute cost for your agents processing all that data when you task them to research something.
